It can grow up to 35 cm (usually 10-20 cm). The body is elongated and is rose-pink, without distinctive markings on its fins.\u00a0It has\u00a0two long tentacles on the chin. It is a carnivorous species and feeds mainly on polychaetes, mollusks and crustaceans. It often jumps out of the water for two reasons: to avoid enemies and because it makes it easier to get oxygen. It is a commercial species and is hunted almost\u00a0always\u00a0by trawl.
